Thank you everyone for your get well wishes, I am getting better everyday! My sore throat is gone, and now all that remains is a cough and stuffy nose. But I can handle those much better then a sore throat. ;) I just hope that everyone else who is feeling ill will be getting better too!

You know how sometimes you have a screencaps with way too much orange, and you can't seem to get rid of it, no matter what colouring you try? It's rather annoying...anyways, that's the purpose of this tutorial. Hope it helps! Questions most welcome! :)

Basic colouring tutorial for pictures with middle to major orange in them
For Gimp, should be translateable
Before:                      After (with some colour balance, curves & using the channel mixer):


1. Crop your base.
2. Duplicate your base, and desaturate your duplicate
3. Set your now desaturated duplicated to screen or overlay. (depends on the picture)
4. Now, depending on what you get- if it's too light or the icon looks odd, you might want to try duplicating your desaturated layer twice more and setting one to screen or overlay and the next to  multiply at a low layer of opacity. If that still doesn't work quite right, I found that duplicating your coloured base (but keeping all your desaturated layers) and setting it to screen also works to give it more colour with out giving it more orange/red. Just play around with it until you get what you like.
5. Then...go ahead and colour your icon as you wish! I hope this helps! Here are some results as to what I've got. (note: these results below  where finished with some other colouring involved afterwards....mainly through curves, channel mixer and colour balance)

This is about the only Fan fiction I shall ever write; so please bear with me. It's horribly cheesy and badly written I know, and I do hope I have not offended anyone by writing it. I shall forewarn you- it involves the characters from the Movie Version of Prince Caspian, and from the BBC TV show Robin Hood. I did this entirely out of fun; and did not mean to offend anyone. So there. I was just wondering. Would there be any interest in me doing interest icons for anyone who would like? If so, please comment below.

If there is interest, here is the main rule:

Guidelines: 
I would not do any icons from PG-13 movies that are rated for the other thing other than violence. (Inappropriate content between male & female for instance) If you're not sure about a movie/show you can ask and I will tell you.

I will do icons from shows/movies, I have not seen as long as they fit the above rule. I can also do icons from stock; actors & actresses, etc. :)

Oh yes, and, I may ask for you to provide images or pictures. :) If it's not too much trouble.
